mTouch+ Features

We consider mobile learning a very serious field which requires expertise in both application and user experience levels. Moodle is a fantastic LMS and we feel obliged to contibute to mobile aspects of Moodle which makes it stand out among the competirors like Blackboard and Sakai.

Actively developing line of business applications in a local university, we are very close to students and we try to probe what they actually want from a mobile LMS application. Students want to be able to "touch" Moodle right on their mobile devices, they do not want a "moodle page" full of information with no interaction.

We redesigned mTouch for iPad from scratch. We did not choose the easy way, resize existing views and treat iPad as if it is a larger iPhone or iPod Touch and push every aspect of mTouch into a SplitView. We use tabs, multi windowing, fancy animations, modal views and pop-over windows which are all new concepts for iPad. We also plan to include some new usability features like bookmarking, saving content on the device for offline viewing and multiple copy/paste buffer.

We plan to offer the "better functionality" for the "same price" and still require no server side installation or tweaking.

Developer is AWESOME!!
by Ricoinc the AppStore
The developer for this app is awesome! There was an issue with the previous version and my wife couldn't get into her school account. I emailed him and in a few days he had a fix and resubmitted to Apple. I tested 1.2 and it works flawlessly on her iPhone and iPad. If you use Moodle for school...I highly recommend this app!!!

Incredible way to access Moodle
by czar48 on the AppStore
I downloaded the 1.1 version originally and was impressed but the forum viewing and posting feature did not work correctly. I contacted customer service and they responded in just a few hours and worked to fix the issue. V 1.2 is really robust, and you can easily view and post to forums, something I had to do in HTML before this app! mTouch is the perfect tool for people who want to access their moodle content on the go, and the developers offer great support. Can't wait for the ipad optimized version

Fairly impressive thus far...

This is great start... It gets a little more stable each version and the developers seem responsive. I hope to have an iPad version out soon but this is great contribution to the Moodle community

by Derek Keenan on mrkeenan.com
If you use Moodle as a Learning Management System and have an iPod or iPhone, you owe it to yourself to buy mTouch! This is one of those apps that enhances the experience of the site it connects to (think Twitter clients versus the original Twitter site) It features many of the add-ons of the Moodle site including quizzes, assignments, chat and much much more! This is a fantastic app that shows just how much value can be added to open source products by thoughtful designers.

Great day for Moodle community
by Joseph Thibault on moodlenews.com
...In any event, it’s a great day for Moodle Mobile. Don’t forget you can “try it before you buy it” by downloading the Windows demo from http://moodletouch.com. Tell us what you think: too expensive? too cheap? will your students buy it? will your organization buy it?
